The mission of the Tulane Cystic Fibrosis Family Advisory Board (TFAB) is to facilitate education, advocacy, and communication within the Tulane Medical Center's Cystic Fibrosis Care Center community in order to improve the overall quality of care for the patients of the Tulane Medical Center's Cystic Fibrosis Care Center (TMCCFCC).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The goals of TFAB will provide more insight to further your understanding of what we hope to achieve. These goals and objectives include, but are not limited to:

To function as a “neutral” forum for the concerns, questions and comments of all TMCCFCC patients and families;
To function as a liaison between the Tulane CF community and the TMCCFCC professional staff and caregivers;
To provide assistance to the professional staff of the TCFCC in their efforts to develop, assess, and administer programs for its patients and families;
To promote advocacy efforts on behalf of CF patients and their families at the local, regional and national levels;
To promote mentoring;
To provide education opportunities for the Tulane CF community;
To assist with facilitating a communication plan between the TMCCFCC outpatient clinic and the Tulane Medical Center (TMC) inpatient staff;
To work with the TMC on the improvement of the overall standard of care for the TMCCFCC patients and the overall quality of inpatient facilities;
To maintain regular communication with the Louisiana Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) and assist the TMCCFCC in making sure all members of the Tulane CF community are aware of the CFF and its role;
In order to facilitate and accomplish the above, TFAB has developed several committees which currently include the Communication Committee, Education Committee, Advocacy Committee and the Hospital Transition Committee. Each committee has taken responsibility for certain section of our list of goals and objectives with the intent of improving and enhancing all areas of the relationship between the CF patient and the TMCCFCC.
